Praise for San Gabriel’s Sullivan
In reference to your article on the resignation of San Gabriel School District’s superintendent, I would like to add my comments. Over the years I have had contact with Mr. Tom Sullivan in my position as a district advisory council member, as well as educator and parent. I have found communication very open. We have often been on different sides of issues and many times on the same side, yet Mr. Sullivan has always been available and open to discussion.
I think that the San Gabriel schools, under the direction of Mr. Sullivan, have done an admirable job educating our children. I would hope that the newly elected members of the school board, and others who have found communication so closed, mostly on union matters, would remember that the school’s primary purpose is quality education, rather than provision of employment for educators.
