Trash and Treasure

I wish the students enrolled in Prof. Luanne Hudson’s course, “Modern Material Culture,” at Occidental College had not chosen garbology as the nickname for their studies (“Wealth of Knowledge in Beverly Hills Garbology” by Dave Larsen, Feb. 20). Perhaps they’re too young to see that our beloved Greta should be the only subject for a garbologist.

Couldn’t they have called their fascinating discipline garbalogy or, better yet, trashology ?
