The informal sessions, between senior level executives from the five major domestic makers of computer chips and their Japanese counterparts, were held in Los Angeles this past weekend. The discussions, part of continuing negotiations, were aimed at resolving trade imbalances between the two countries and finding ways to allow U.S. companies greater access to Japan’s markets.
