The Community Redevelopment Agency has agreed to hire consultants to study the feasibility and potential impact of projects in two El Monte redevelopment areas.

The Los Angeles-based accounting firm of Laventhol & Horwath will be paid $18,000 to do a marketing study to determine the feasibility of a hotel at the corner of Brockway Street and Santa Anita Avenue near the RTD bus terminal.

LSA Consultants of Newport Beach will be hired for $12,000 to complete an environmental impact report for future residential and commercial development in the agency’s Ramona Boulevard area at the eastern edge of the city. The contract will cover the second phase of a 142-unit townhome development by Allwest Development Co. of Pasadena and potential commercial development of the former railroad right of way.
