Santa Fe Springs : Waste-Cleanup Gear Study
A preliminary study to provide basic information on equipment designed to dispose of liquid wastes was commissioned last week by the City Council, acting as the redevelopment agency.
The study will help city officials “get a feel for how the small industries in the city can benefit from” the equipment, which is capable of removing hazardous wastes from water, said George Beaty, assistant director for planning.
He said the study is also necessary in order to give officials a basic understanding of the equipment as well as to determine how many small industries in the city could benefit from it.
The equipment, which can be mounted on a trailer and transported to various sites, has been developed by a local businessman, Beaty said.
The report, which will cost $1,900, is due in about a month.
