The husband of former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro called reporters “vultures” as they walked to a pretrial hearing today for their son, John A. Zaccaro Jr., on charges of selling cocaine at Middlebury College.

Walking from a restaurant to the courthouse with her 22-year-old son, called “the pharmacist” on campus, his lawyer and her husband, Ferraro was surrounded by two dozen reporters and photographers.

“You people haven’t changed,” said Ferraro, Walter Mondale’s running mate in 1984.

“You guys are a bunch of vultures,” said her husband, John A. Zaccaro Sr.

The case against their son was continued until April 15.
