Meeting to Cover Health Care Issues

Share

California Health Decisions--Orange County Project, a grass-roots effort to elicit public opinion on ethical issues in health care, will conduct the fourth in a series of 12 countywide town hall meetings at 7:30 tonight in the Costa Mesa City Council chambers, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. The public is invited. Admission is free.

California Health Decisions was organized last year by the Orange County Health Planning Council and the Center for Bioethics at the St. Joseph Health System in Orange. Thus far, there have been more than 160 small group meetings involving more than 1,600 people who have discussed such questions as: Do people have the right to health care? How should health-care resources be allocated? How should life-prolonging technology be applied?

The town hall meetings further the project’s goals of increasing public awareness about health-care issues and developing recommendations concerning health-care policy.
