A state law requiring physicians to notify parents of unmarried minors seeking abortions went into effect as a federal judge in Cleveland refused to issue a temporary restraining order. “We expect it to be a very confusing and hectic week for abortion clinics in Ohio,” said Mark Levy, acting director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio. The legislation requires physicians to give at least 24 hours’ notice to the parents or legal guardian of an unmarried minor seeking an abortion.
