Radical Unit Claims Role in Tokyo Blasts
A left-wing group that has pledged to disrupt the May economic summit meeting of industrial nations claimed responsibility Friday for rocket attacks this week on the U.S. Embassy and the Imperial Palace.
In a similar attack in the city of Osaka, three homemade rockets were fired at police headquarters Friday, but failed to explode. No injuries or damage were reported.
A radical group, the 500-member Senki Kyosando, or Battle Flag Communist Alliance, said it had fired the five homemade rockets using hair spray cans Tuesday.
