J. David (Jerry) Dominelli, who suffered a mild stroke last week, is out of the hospital and back in the federal prison in Pleasanton, a federal prosecutor said Monday.
“Apparently he’s fine . . . he has not suffered any injury or impairment,” said Assistant U.S. Atty. George Hardy.
Dominelli, 44, is serving a 20-year sentence at the prison in Northern California for an $80-million swindling scheme connected with his La Jolla-based J. David & Co. money trading firm, which went bankrupt in 1984.
Hardy said Dominelli had been taken to the Valley Memorial Hospital in Livermore, about 50 miles southeast of San Francisco, on Wednesday. He was released Friday afternoon.
Hardy said Dominelli is taking a medication called Dilantin, used to suppress seizures.
