TAIPEI, Taiwan —
A 21-year-old lovelorn woman who jumped from the 12th floor in a suicide attempt but instead hit and killed a food vendor was indicted today on charges of manslaughter by negligence.
Prosecutors said Hu Yu-mei was responsible because she failed to make sure there was no one below when she jumped. Hu had argued that she thought he would have moved away by the time she hit the ground.
