Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger left Washington on Monday on a two-week Pacific trip that will include a stop in the Philippines and a meeting with President Corazon Aquino.

Weinberger left Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington on a direct flight to Seoul, South Korea, where he will begin his five-nation swing by representing the United States at the annual security meetings held by representatives of the two countries. He will then visit Japan before flying to the Philippines, Thailand and Australia. He is scheduled to return to Washington on April 13.
