LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from April 2, 1986
Jerry Jordan has been named chief economist and head of the economics department at First Interstate Bancorp of Los Angeles, replacing A. James Meigs, who retired March 31.
Jordan joined First Interstate in February, 1985, after serving as dean of the Anderson Schools of Management in Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers during 1981 and 1982.
He is a member of the Shadow Open Market Committee, a group of economists that comments on monetary policy actions of the Federal Reserve.
