UCI Tops Loyola in Women’s Tennis

Stephanie Rhorer came from behind to post a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles to lead UC Irvine to an 8-1 victory over Loyola Marymount in a nonconference women’s tennis match at UCI Wednesday.

Trailing 2-5 in the third set, Rhorer survived match point on two occasions before rallying to win the game and the set.

UCI’s No. 1 doubles team of Lola Trenwich and Colleen Patton defeated Kristi Anderson and Cristi Gonzalez, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

UCI (11-9) is at UC Santa Barbara Friday.
