The Adam Walsh Child Resource Center of Southern California will officially open its new facility April 16 at 721 S. Parker St.. The 2,000-square-foot center has been set up to provide support information and referral services for abuse victims and their families, as well as assistance to families with missing children.

John Walsh, whose 6-year-old son Adam was abducted and killed in Florida in 1981, will participate in the ceremony, according to Janete Keenan-La Montagne, a volunteer at the center. Walsh established the Adam Walsh Foundation and led a nationwide effort to publicize the issue of missing and exploited children.

The Orange center, which includes a pamphlet clearinghouse and resource library, has been operating for about six weeks. The number is (714)-547-1361.
