A 17-year-old Tiffin University freshman died after a freak accident during warm-ups for a baseball game at Mount Vernon, Ohio.

A baseball thrown by the catcher struck and killed shortstop Scot Clarke, who apparently did not see it coming. Clarke, of Wooster, collapsed after the ball hit him in the middle of the chest.
