Jarle Halsnes, a 28-year-old former World Cup ski racer from Sauda, Norway, earned his second consecutive world title by winning the slalom title in the World Pro Ski Championships at Keystone, Colo.

Halsnes, who placed second in the 1986 Peugeot U.S. Pro Tour, collected the $20,000 first-place prize.

He finished 15 points ahead of Francois Vulliet of France in the overall standings. Olympic silver medalist Jurij Franko of Yugoslavia, who won last Saturday’s giant slalom race, finished third in the combined standings, while Cary Adgate of the United States was fourth.
