The Air Force, in what was described as a precautionary move in the wake of a crash last week, has grounded almost 300 of its C-130 Hercules transport planes worldwide for mandatory wing inspections, the Pentagon said. The order, issued to Air Force bases on Monday, affects 298 older models of the C-130. An additional 437 Air Force C-130s are not affected, the service said.
