Jarvik-7 Used in France

PARIS —
French doctors implanted an American-made Jarvik-7 heart in the chest of a 25-year-old man in France’s first artificial heart transplant, officials said today. The recipient was reported in satisfactory condition at Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in Paris.
