Learning How to Distill Brandy

MICHELAU, West Germany — Brandy distilling may not be the most popular hobby, but travelers interested in it will find a course on the subject in this village.
About 50 miles northwest of Nuremberg, Michelau’s Steigerwald Nature Park offers a short course on distilling brandy from various fruits. The program, which includes two nights, all meals and expert information, is available all year, with rates starting at about $40.
