The trial of a Lafayette man accused of the brutal murder of a University of California student began with family members of both the victim and suspect in attendance. Four weeks of jury selection ended last week when a panel was seated in Alameda County Superior Court to hear the trial of Bradley Page, 25, accused of killing his girlfriend, Roberta (Bibi) Lee, 21, of Cambridge, Mass., in November, 1984. Page, who has been free on $100,000 bail for a year, reported Lee missing to Berkeley police within an hour after she was last seen alive jogging in the Oakland hills. He also assisted in a search for her. Lee’s body was found five weeks later near the area where she was reported missing, and Page was questioned by homicide inspectors. Page reportedly confessed to the murder, then recanted his admission a few hours later, Oakland police said.
