More than 170 Americans evacuated from Sudan arrived in Kenya today. The evacuations were ordered after a U.S. Embassy employee was shot in the head following U.S. air strikes against Libya earlier this week.

The evacuees, mostly dependents of American government employees in Khartoum, were flown into the Kenyan capital aboard a special charter aircraft and were met by U.S. Embassy staff, who said that for security reasons they would not reveal details of the operation.
