Share

The Pentagon has awarded a $112-million contract to Rockwell International Corp’s Autonetics Strategic Systems Division in Anaheim to continue production of the guidance and control system for the MX missile.

The contract, the second production award the division has received, covers all the hardware, computer programming and engineering work required to support the operations of 21 missiles. Deliveries are expected to begin in April of 1987 and last approximately one year.

Rockwell was awarded a $233-million contract for the first phase of MX guidance control production in August, 1984. A Rockwell official said no additional employees will be hired at the Anaheim facility to handle the latest contract. More than 2,000 workers at the Anaheim plant are assigned to the MX program.
