More than 100 people gathered at Elysian Park to plant 34 coral, jacaranda, cape chestnuts, flaming eucalyptus, flowering plum, Chinese magnolia and other trees in a ceremony marking the park’s 100th anniversary. It was the seventh such ceremony in the last six years, said Sallie W. Neubauer, secretary of a neighborhood group called Citizens to Save Elysian Park.
