Dart & Kraft reported a 46% increase in its first-quarter earnings, although most of the gain was attributed to the sale of its Kitchenaid business, which accounted for $41 million of the profit. Excluding that one-time gain, profit increased 7% during the quarter, mostly on the strong performance of the Kraft division, which increased sales by 7%. Tupperware sales were down 3%, while and the consumer products segment experienced a sales drop of about 17%.
