Reaction to U.S. Bombing Raid on Libya

Share

If the air strike against Libya was--as the deep thinkers and strategists of the Reagan Administration claim--to demonstrate to Kadafi the high cost of his terrorism, I wonder why they didn’t strike at the one target that makes his adventurism possible.

His oil wells.

This is his pocketbook. This is where the man lives. Without his billions from oil, Kadafi couldn’t throw a rock through a glass window. Yet we bomb civilians and foreign embassies. Why? Is it because our indignation over terrorism stops where the financial interests of U.S. oil companies begin?
