A Saudi prince who admitted spending thousands of dollars a year on drugs, women and high living was jailed Monday for three months for possessing cocaine.

Prince Mashour ibn Abdulaziz Saud, 32, who admitted possessing cocaine with the intention of supplying it, was convicted Friday by a London court.

He was cleared of two other charges of importing and supplying the drug.

“It is sad to see you in the dock--a man who has had far more advantages in his life than are given most,” the judge told the prince, the 24th of the 45 sons of the late King Saud.

After sentence was passed, the prince whispered, “Thank you” to the judge as he was led away by two prison officers.

Earlier in the trial, the prince told the court he spent $380,000 a year on cocaine, women and high living in London’s top hotels.
