Rams Draft Canadian Lineman
From Associated Press
The Los Angeles Rams took a huge lineman from Canada as their first-round choice in today’s National Football League draft, and the Raiders pulled a surprise by taking defensive end Bob Buczkowski of Pitt, a 265-pounder who won the Big East shot-put title as a freshman.
The Rams’ first pick was Michael Schad, a 6-foot-5, 290-pounder from Queens College in Kingston, Ontario. He was the first Canadian college player ever taken in the first round.
