An armed man suspected of killing his estranged wife in Nevada hijacked a small chartered airplane and flew it to Little River, Calif., and disappeared, the FBI said. The single-engine Cessna P-210 was found tied up at the airport near Little River, a small town between Mendocino and Fort Bragg, FBI spokesman Tom Griffin said in Sacramento. Griffin said Kelly Korner, 36, is a suspect in the shooting death of his estranged wife, Christy C. Korner, 36, in Reno. Her body was found in a car Monday night. Korner is believed to have chartered the plane in Reno and then ordered pilot G. R. Browning off the craft at gunpoint in Dunsmuir, Calif., about 50 miles south of Oregon. He took over the controls and flew off. “The pilot had no idea why the man did it,” Police Sgt. Robin Johnson said. “Apparently they really didn’t speak during the flight.”
