Chairman Bernard R. Garrett said the legal action is intended to overturn the results of voting this week at the company’s annual meeting. The Colton-based grocery chain reported Tuesday that shareholders had elected a slate of three directors backed by suspended President Jack Brown. But Garrett, who is feuding with Brown, said the company has amended a lawsuit already filed in Delaware to contest the ownership of certain shares voted for the Brown directors. Garrett also said that a trial is set for June and that no change will be made in the Stater Bros. board before then.
