Thinking Machines Corp. of Cambridge, Mass., said its Connection Machine system uses more than 64,000 processors--several times more than other available mini-supercomputers--and can handle vast amounts of information at speeds faster than 1 billion instructions per second. The computer, which will cost about $3 million, is designed for tasks that involve the use of so-called artificial intelligence.
