Sikh Moderates Get Shrine Back

AMRITSAR, India —
Police returned control of the Golden Temple to Sikh moderates today, hours after suspected Sikh terrorists killed seven people in apparent reprisals for the storming of their holiest shrine two days ago.
Scores of police surrounded Punjab Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala, and an Indian air force helicopter clattered overhead as he visited the Golden Temple to pray and meet with the religious leaders.
