Safeguard Promotes Brendzel, Marko

Safeguard Health Enterprises Inc., an Anaheim-based prepaid dental plan operator, said it promoted Ronald I. Brendzel from vice president to senior vice president. He retains the positions of general counsel and secretary.
Brendzel, who joined Safeguard in 1978, has been its acting chief financial officer since the firing two weeks ago of Stefan J. Dietrich, who was ousted amid projections of lower earnings for the quarter that ended March 31.
Emelia Marko, Safeguard’s vice president of administration, has been promoted to the post of senior vice president of operations. A Safeguard employee since 1977, Marko has been a vice president since 1980.
