Patti Richards Heads Interior Design Society

Los Angeles interior designer Patti Richards has been elected president of the International Society of Interior Designers.

Other new officers are June Towill Brown, Los Angeles, chairman; Peter Von der Geest, New York City, first vice president; John Latimer Tate, Miami Shores, Fla., second vice president; Fola Lerner, Rancho Mirage, Calif., secretary; Ronna Daskal, Scottsdale, Ariz., chief financial officer, and Mel Spanier, Miami, international trade liaison.

Other officers: Jimmy A. Saip, Los Angeles, past president and chairman of the board; Robert Darby, Woodside, Calif., past first vice president, and Van Hurst, Los Angeles, past second vice president.

Richards is a founding member of the society, formed in 1979, and has been active in the design field for 20 years. A specialist in space planning and design, she is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and has served on the board of directors for the Thalians Charity for 13 years. She is a graduate of UCLA.
