Orange County Home Sales Declined in Fourth Quarter

Sales of new houses in Orange County declined during the fourth quarter of 1985, because of a 36.1% drop from the third to the fourth quarter in the number of detached houses sold, according to “Residential Trends,” a survey published by Market Profiles, Costa Mesa.
Sales of detached houses fell from 1,605 in the third quarter to 1,025 in the fourth, according to the report. Attached units--town houses and condominiums--registered an increase of 20 sales to 1,208 in the fourth quarter.
Attached units made up 56.3% of all new home offerings.
