A United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees said today that its foreign staff has been evacuated from Muslim West Beirut because of the “kidnapings and killings of foreigners.”

“The situation in West Beirut has made it too dangerous for my international staff to remain there,” said Robert Gallagher, director of the Lebanon office of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees. The staff will be stationed in East Beirut.
