San/Bar Corp. said it lost $1.3 million for its fiscal 1986 third quarter, ended March 31, a slight improvement from the $1.5-million loss reported a year earlier. Revenue for the period was $3.4 million, down 32% from $5 million.

For the first nine months, the Irvine telecommunications company reported a net loss of $997,000, contrasted with net earnings of $6.3 million posted in fiscal 1985 after the company received extraordinary income of $8.6 million from settlement of a lawsuit. Revenue for the nine-month period was $11.9 million, down 21% from $15.1 million.

The third-quarter loss, San/Bar officials said, came from a one-time, $1.4-million charge taken when the company discontinued the manufacture and sale of a product line--the Vision 2000 electronic key telephone system. The company said its financial resources remain strong, with current assets of $19.5 million, current liabilities of $7.5 million and total shareholders’ equity of $13.7 million.
