The Region : Man Cleans Up on Lottery

Share

A retired maintenance man from Los Angeles won $1 million in the California Lottery’s Big Spin, but a record grand prize proved elusive for the seventh consecutive week. Charles Adams, 68, of the Westside was only the second contestant to win $1 million in the lottery’s fifth scratch-off game. Since Rose Albrecht of Banning won a $4.625-million grand prize on March 22, 112 contestants have spun the 100-slot lottery wheel without hitting one of the three grand prize spots. Next week, the jackpot begins at $10.28 million.
