Winners of Architectural Contest Named

Kevin Toon, a senior at Corona del Mar High School, was the first-place winner in the 24th annual Women’s Architectural League high school architectural design and drawing competition sponsored by the Orange County chapter, American Institute of Architects.

Toon was awarded certificates for Best of School and Best Model, as well as the first-place ribbon.

The award winners will be the guests of the chapter at the monthly meeting scheduled Thursday evening at the UC Irvine University Club. Cash prizes will be presented and the winning entries of the competition problem--an equestrian center--will be on display.

Brad Cox of Foothill High School received the second-place award, while Kenneth Murai of Los Alamitos High School tied with Andy Nesselrod of Corona del Mar High for third place. Honorable mentions went to Brent Eckersley of Mission Viejo High School, Jeff Harvey of Foothill High and Chris Samuelian of Corona del Mar High.
