Western Health Plans reported a $250,000 net loss compared with a net profit of $2.3 million a year ago for the third quarter ended March 31. Revenue rose 26% to $23.8 million. Western reported net income of $695,000 and revenue of $66.5 million for the nine-month period. Western also announced that it would repurchase 543,750 shares of common stock that is primarily held by former employees.
