Datron Systems Income Up 170% for Quarter

Datron Systems, a Simi Valley communications equipment company, reported a 170% increase in net income from the similar period a year ago on 38% higher sales during its fourth quarter ended March 31. Datron reported net income of $697,000, or 26 cents a share, on sales of $7.4 million.

For the fiscal year, the company’s net income rose 23% above the previous year’s, to $1.8 million, or 68 cents a share. Sales were up 18%, to $21.7 million.

The company attributed the improved performance to its acquisition of Trans World Communications on Oct. 31. TWC makes radio communications systems.

Datron makes satellite, radar and radio communications systems, mostly for military and government use.
