The former chief executive of a Glendale defense subcontractor was sentenced to 60 days in jail and fined $10,000 for devising a price-fixing scheme on materials used in the Air Force’s top-secret stealth bomber project. Charles F. Lombard pleaded guilty in March to charges that he offered to rig bids with a rival firm in San Diego on contracts to supply $56,000 in space-age laminating material used in a variety of aircraft parts. Lombard, 55, headed Lamsco West Inc., and was vice chairman of the Glendale firm’s parent company in Connecticut, Alinabal Inc. He was terminated after being indicted on Feb. 24, prosecutors said. Lamsco West, which pleaded guilty to a single fraud charge, was placed on three years’ probation and fined $10,000. The company was a subcontractor on the program to build the new bomber, which will be equipped with technology to make it virtually undetectable to enemy radar.
