Two teen-age guerrillas planning to assault telecommunications centers in Ayacucho died in separate attacks when the bombs they were carrying exploded prematurely, police reported Monday.

A 16-year-old boy died Monday in a hospital a day after a dynamite stick concealed under his shirt blew up while he was in the central square in Huanta, 30 miles from here.

The Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) guerrilla was aiming to hit the telephone exchange here, police said.

On Friday night, an unidentified Sendero youth, about 15, was killed here when an explosive he was carrying detonated 10 yards from his target, the local telecommunications center, police said.
