RB Industries reported a net loss of $684,000 for the quarter ended March 31, compared to a loss of $1.27 million in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the Los Angeles company’s third quarter slipped 11.3%, to $25.8 million, because fewer stores were operating in the company’s W&J; Sloane division during the period. The loss reflected a $956,000 reserve for store-closing costs and a $270,000 profit from the sale of securities. For the nine months, RB had net income of $50,000 compared to a $4-million loss in the same period last year. RB is parent of Irvine-based RB Furniture.
