Hollywood : Smiley Burnette to Get Star

Cowboy motion picture actor Smiley Burnette will be honored posthumously with the 1,826th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 12:30 p.m. next Thursday at 6125 Hollywood Blvd.
Among those in attendance will be Gene Autry, with whom Burnette appeared in 61 motion pictures at his comic sidekick. The two met in the late 1920s when they appeared together on “National Barn Dance,” a radio program in Tulsa.
Burnette retired from acting in 1953. He died in 1968.
