The latest California Poll shows large numbers of voters in both parties are undecided on the state controller’s races to be decided in next month’s primary. Among Democrats who had an opinion, state Sen. John Garamendi was favored by 24% of the voters, while Assemblyman Gray Davis was favored by 15% and Assemblyman Alister McAlister by 9%. But 52% of all registered Democrats were undecided. Among Republicans who had an opinion, state Sen. William Campbell was favored by 26%, followed by Assemblyman Don Sebastiani with 21% and former chairman of the state Fair Political Practices Commission Dan Stanford with 11%. The remainder of the Republicans, 42%, were undecided.
