A major cocaine processing laboratory, with a capacity of 7,000 pounds per month, has been dismantled by narcotics police in a remote jungle area of eastern Colombia, police said Thursday.

Four policemen were killed in the raid, carried out by patrols using three trucks and a helicopter last Saturday near Cumaribo, about 312 miles east of Bogota.

The clandestine factory, one of the biggest found in the past year, included a dormitory large enough to sleep 60, plus 11 houses complete with running water and electricity and a 4,200-foot airstrip long enough to accommodate DC-3 aircraft.
