Lomita : Hands Across America
Frank Cullen, an official of Hands Across America, appeared at Monday’s council meeting to show proof of insurance and security and to assure the council that most of the money donated by participants will be given to organizations that aid the poor in the United States.
After disavowing financial liability for the event, the council unanimously voted to allow the use of Pacific Coast Highway for the event, scheduled for Sunday. About 1,300 participants are expected to line up in Lomita.
