Santa Ana : Seniors Honored for Work in Community
The city honored its senior citizens of the year Friday at a luncheon hosted by the Santa Ana Senior Center.
Mayor Dan Griset presented Magdalena McChesney and Ernest Fernandez with trophies honoring their work in the community. McChesney is a volunteer in charge of food distribution at the senior center and works for the Salvation Army and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Fernandez is chairman of the board of the Council for Senior Citizens at the Jerome Park senior center and also volunteers in the Jerome Park senior meals program.
Other seniors honored at the luncheon include Cecil and Dorothy Durant, Charlotte and Lou Lefler, Elsie Mercandante, Audrey and Michael Ratkovich, Vernon Sherman and Ernest Wiggers.
