District attorneys in 11 California counties agreed to participate in a two month child-support amnesty program intended to encourage parents to meet their legal obligations. The program, called Kids Deserve Support (KIDS) is a renewal--on a larger scale--of a successful two-month pilot program conducted in five counties last year. That program increased support payments by $865,000, said Linda McMahon, state director of social services. Counties taking part in the new program were identified as Amador, Butte, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Santa Cruz, Sonoma and Yuba.
